James Elston is a specialist in infectious diseases, public health and epidemiology. James has been heavily involved in the national COVID-19 pandemic response in his role working for Public Health England. He has extensive international experience in a variety of settings including Southern, Eastern and Western Africa and Eastern Ukraine; fulfilling a range of roles including physician, public health practitioner, researcher, epidemiologist and consultant, latterly delivering an international surveillance strengthening programme. Prior to becoming a Trustee, James worked for Doctors of the World as Health Advisor and performed work for DOTW and Medicins du Monde partners during the West African Ebola outbreak.
